Post 4 - where i'd go in the time
If I could go to somewhere in time, I’d like to go to the roaring twenties, in the interwar period. I don’t really know why, but when I see movies from that period, I wonder how life was and what was it like to live in a highly developed country like the United States of América.
In the roaring
twenties there were a lot of new things, but one of my favorite ones is the
jazz blossom. I’d like to know how it feels to walk through the streets and
hear the jazz filling the whole space from a bar at the next square. Also,
there was a change in the way that women used to dress, the stopped wearing the
classical corset and started using shorter skirts and dresses. Women who
dressed were called “flappers”, but it wasn’t only for the way they dressed,
but also for what they did, flappers smoked in public, drank, danced music like
jazz. I would love to wear those sparkling dresses and put feathers in my hair.
Everything was so different from now.
Maybe I’m
romanticizing a little bit the roaring twenties, but I would still love to live
it. I don’t know if I’d stay there for so much time, but just because
eventually is going to appear a new world war.
Hello Mary!!! personally I would also have loved to live the crazy 20's, the theme of clothing in those years causes me a particular fascination, very detailed and peculiar dresses <3
ResponderEliminarWithout a doubt, seeing the birth of jazz and what American society was like in the 1920s must be an amazing experience.
ResponderEliminarPersonally, the past does not attract my attention that much, but as you described it, I felt that you like it a lot and you transmit it.
